Oh, I SO lied...

Hiatus, I has it.

Much craftiness has ensued since last I posted.

* The Noro Silk Garden purse is complete (tho I'm not keen on it, and may line it, or frog it completely).

* I helped a guy learn to knit last year. I say "help", but really I just loaned him needles, books and destashed some of my acrylic and wool yarn. He is SMRT and figured it out himself.

* I went mad and made myself the Season 12 Doctor Who scarf. It took me six weeks, I finished it on Christmas Eve. It took a month of wearing it before someone who didn't already know me recognized it.

* I am working on a Secret Amigurumi project, and having the worst time free-handing it. The yarn is not the issue. Normally, I'm okay at free-handing projects, but I feel I may have to search others' patterns and scavenge to get something I like. Right now what I have looks like a sex-toy cozy. FAIL.

* I have learned how to tat this year. I like tatting. It is small and portable. And there's nothing like going to a Knit in Public Day event, whipping out a couple of shuttles and doing a simple butterfly or flower pattern to totally blow the minds of all the knitters present. (I also do this with tunisian crochet or hairpin lace crochet. Yes, I'm an attention whore/bitch.)

* I am making lace to border some hand towels for my mother. My mom is the kind to have all the fancy frou-frou towels for her guest bathroom, so why not have some hand-made lace?

* My SNB group went for SEX at a couple of out-of-town LYS this Spring, and I bought some lovely Cascade yarn in a blue, lavender and gray colorway, with the intention of doing the Column of Leaves scarf (and maybe the muffatees, too). I also found a similar colorway of sock yarn by Cherry Tree Hill (I think it's Moody Blues) with the intention of learning to do socks this year. I will learn. Really. After I stop petting the yarn.

* Am working on another fiber-related project. Should be interesting, if it pans out.
