I'm melting...

It is so HOT this week. It's 10 pm and still 98° outside. The a/c at work is not working correctly, the ice machine is broken, and when I come home, my house is like an oven.

Hel-LO, Panera! I less-than-three your a/c. And your Greek Salad is full of win. Or is that kalamata olives? I forget.

I have been knitting all evening, since I barely have time during my breaks to knit one row on my project. What's worse, this project is growing wider. I swatched - I swear! - so it should only be about 14" wide... but it's over 16". ARGH! Trying to tug it back to being longer is not doing any good. This means that in order to suit my needs, I'll probably have to felt it and block it. Darn. It's not what I was hoping for, but... I guess I'll make it work.

Note to self: a wool project, even if not very big, is still not fun to knit when you're miserable and sweaty.

In other musings, I know I really need to be saving my money, but I found a spinning wheel for sale online on CL. It's a style I like, it appears to be older than I am (not that that's saying much) and it doesn't have fancy turned spokes or legs, which I really dislike.

Problem is, while I really, really want to learn how to spin my own yarn, I've tried, with a drop spindle, and I'm too discombobulated. My lack of coordination is also the reason why I've never mastered stick-shift.

My mantra is "house first, furnishings later". I must save for a down-payment.

But honestly, what's $100 or so but a drop in the bucket?

No, no. Bad. BAD Misha.

I'll just quietly kick the 1&1/4" button-making supplies, and my Doctor Who action figures under the sofa when they arrive. *whistling innocently* Or take the figures to work. I need two Daleks on my desk. And it'd be fun to hold up K-9 and say "Affirmative" or "Negative" in an electronic voice. Better yet, I can push Rose around and murmur "Am I bovvered?"
